Dec. 30th, 2010 09:41 amWe visited my mom for Christmas, as we usually do. We had less time because of Pat's stupid fucking employer who didn't give them any holidays because Christmas and New Years fall on Saturday, and because he's out of vacation. In fact we had to get up at 5:00 Tuesday morning and drive straight to Morgan Hill so he could come in and work a half day, in order to get paid for that day.
Anyway. We had a great visit which mostly consisted of sitting around talking to my mom. I got money gifts from her and Pat which I immediately spent: we went to the Melrose flea market where the coral and silver Native American necklace I'd seen last December was still there, and now it was way cheaper than it was then. And so I was justified in going to the Fluevog store to get these boots, which I've wanted for a long time. I got them in black. Did you notice they're lined in blue leather??
We also went to a fabulous exhibit at the County Art Museum of European dress from 1700 to 1915. It was terrific. My only regret is that I didn't realized till we'd left that I could have taken pictures if I didn't use flash. So many exquisite things there.
