We went to Santa Cruz for the weekend because Pat (and a bunch of friends) ran the Wharf to Wharf race. We stayed at the Casablanca Motel, right on the beach, sharing a room with our friends Wade and Shelley. Wade's sister, niece, and a whole bunch of their friends also ran the race. Pat and I drove around on Saturday morning, went to some garage sales, took pictures in a cemetery. Then we all had dinner together at a great place, Red. Today was the race, Pat's first time doing it, and he ran the whole way! I am so impressed by him! I would have been impressed even if he'd walked part of it.
